At this point, the extract goes through a purification process to eliminate any harmful ingredients which might be in it, such as heavy metals and aluminum. Most of the caffeine element remains behind as well.
This is also the same process that can create a decaffeinated version of the extract.

- Fill 1/3 of your bowl with hot water to preheat it. To soften the prongs of your whisk, dip them in the same bowl.
- Then, pour the water out and dry the bowl with a clean cloth.
- Next, you want to add ½ tsp of matcha powder to the bottom of the warm bowl – either sift it or break the clumps with the prongs of your whisk.
- Add ~70 ml of hot (not boiling!) water, and then whisk the mixture with one hand while holding the bowl in the other hand. Whisk in “W” motion vigorously until thick, creamy froth forms. Yum!
