Your body is quite good at eliminating harmful substances on its own. However, you should still give your liver a bit of help to purify and detox the body.
If you are experiencing fatigue, bad breath, and struggle to lose weight, it is probably because you have a build-up of harmful toxins in your body.
But don’t worry, cleansing can be as easy as drinking natural herbal teas that help filter unwanted gunk out of your body fast and efficiently so that you can feel great again.
Here are 5 well-formulated herbal detox teas for better weight loss and feeling great. (Tried & Trusted)

Tea Is The Elixir Of Life – Lao Tzu
“Teatoxing”, detoxing and cleansing are all similar terms used to describe the process of helping the body to eliminate unwanted toxins.
Unfortunately, with heavy pollution and unhealthy lifestyles, our natural detox systems – liver, kidneys, and skin – are often struggling to remove the waste in a timely manner.
Stress and other lifestyle factors tend to slow down the process even further, undermining the body’s ability to combat this.
Here is how you can easily and naturally help your body to get rid of unwanted toxins using these well-formulated herbal brews below.
Why Should You Detox Your Body?
Detox teas are one of the best ways to cleanse your body naturally. These teas contain herbs that help detox and cleanse your body, and that, in turn, help boost your energy, lose weight, and even reduce stress.
I have been doing a natural body cleanse for the last two years now. And I can honestly say what a fantastic difference it makes to your overall health and well-being.
Regular detox is essential for maintaining good health because our bodies tend to become overloaded with toxins from processed foods, pesticides, and external sources such as contaminated environments and pollution.
Unless these toxins are flushed out at regular intervals, the body will stop functioning properly. I have been studying and researching various ways to purify my body. And I have tried most of the body cleanse programs out there, and I must admit, one of my favorite ways to detox is drinking herbal teas.
Herbs in detox teas are considered to be the most natural when it comes to body cleansing and weight loss.
Some Common Benefits Of Cleansing Herbs:
- Reduces belly bloat
- Anti-inflammatory
- Improves immunity
- Relieves constipation
- Weight loss
- Relieves cramping
- Regulates blood sugar levels
- Cleanses colon
- Treats indigestion
- Soothes the intestinal walls
- Helps to treat infections
- Eliminates toxins
- Could stimulate brain function
- Relieves stress and anxiety
- Cleanses liver
- Great for skin health
With so many detox teas available in the market, you may wonder which one is the best for you.
So, I have created a list of five detox teas that I have used myself with excellent results for weight loss, energy boosts, better digestion, and so on. These detox teas that I am recommending here also taste great (except one) and are quite affordable too.
One of the most effective detoxifying methods is to support the organs that take part in this process, especially the liver. To achieve that, it may be recommended to consume a balanced diet, including certain types of tea that are especially high in antioxidants.
Best Detox Teas For Energy And Weight Loss:
Favorite – Yogi Ayurvedic Infusion With Liquorice, Dandelion, And Cinnamon
Check the best price here on Amazon>>>
All the teas in this post have really produced some great results for me, so it was quite difficult to choose the best one, but if I really must choose, then I would probably go for Yogi Detox Tea. I’ve been drinking this tea for a while now, and it’s already become a staple in my pantry.
I ran out a few days ago and certainly noticed the absence of my now-staple for an evening cuppa. As I was going to order some more, I discovered that they had released a new flavor, Dandelion and Cinnamon.
I absolutely love this new flavor and that is one of the reasons I am choosing Yogi as my top favorite detox tea. I’d say give this one a go if you enjoy spicy, warm, rich flavors, you will typically find this kind of mix in a curry, no less.
When I first tried it, licorice and cinnamon were definitely dominant flavors. Still, the more I drank it, the more other components stood out. It’s a really complex flavor.
There’s also dandelion, cardamom, and black pepper…mmm, it is difficult to explain the flavor really, and judging by the ingredients, you may be a bit skeptical, but once you have tried it, you will be pleasantly surprised. 🙂
List Of Ingredients In Yogi Detox Tea:
- Licorice
- Burdock root
- Cinnamon
- Ginger
- Fennel
- Dandelion
- Anise
- Coriander
- Juniper berries
- Cardamom
- Parsley
- Black pepper
- Cloves
- Sage
- Turmeric root
I think this tea is best for colder months or in the evening since the warming effect is pretty much instant, followed by sweetness and slight bitterness of herbs. I’ve heard some people make iced tea from it, and with great success – yet to try it myself.
As for the detox benefits, whilst I’m cautious about attributing all the positive changes solely to my Yogi tea addiction, I’ve definitely been feeling much more energetic and refreshed with a noticeable weight loss.
My obligatory afternoon bloating has also been visiting my tummy less frequently, so there’s that too.
But mostly, this tea is simply delicious, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves tea and wants to cleanse their body.
Does Yogi Detox Tea Make You Poop?
Yogi Detox Tea is made from a mixture of herbs. These herbs are most commonly used to detox your body and relieve constipation. Yogi Detox tea acts as a mild stimulant laxative. It works by stimulating the intestines to move stool along, and therefore it could make you poop more often. It is all part of the cleansing process.
That is the reason why Yogi Detox Tea is so effective. It helps your body to eliminate toxins and prevents accumulation and many other intestinal problems.
The accumulation of poop and toxins in our bowel makes us feel tired and without energy, even when we sleep all night. So, having a few cups of herbal Yogi tea every day could be beneficial.
How Does Yogi Cleansing Tea Work?
The way Yogi Tea works is very simple: through its components, it provides substances that naturally help your liver and kidneys eliminate toxins, but what are these components? Nothing less than totally natural ingredients:
Indian Sarsaparilla Root: Traditionally used to flavor root beer, but it has also been used for centuries as a tonic for its detoxifying properties.
Ginger Root: In Ayurvedic medicine, ginger is like gold and is used to help with various conditions, including, of course, discomfort related to the digestive tract.
Burdock Root: A member of the daisy family, this plant can be helpful for cleansing our liver. Burdock Root looks a bit like a carrot and can be eaten as such.
Cardamom: This culinary herb belongs to the ginger family, and in addition to adding an incredible flavor to food, it also reinforces the digestive function.
Black Pepper: Another culinary ingredient that you probably didn’t know is full of antioxidants. Black pepper is a slight diuretic. It contains piperine, which prevents fat cell differentiation, increases the bioavailability of nutrients, and enhances fat metabolism.
Dandelion Root: This small plant grows like weeds in some gardens but can be very helpful in detoxifying your liver.
Juniper Berry Extract: Juniper berries, which are actually several seeds that merge and get that berry appearance. It is a well-known spice in European cuisine while also supporting kidney function, cleaning the urinary tract, and relieving intestinal gas.
Can Yogi Tea help solve digestive problems, relieve constipation and poor digestion, and increase intestinal transit?
Of course! All these natural components enter your body, and soon you will begin to feel relief. It can be beneficial for restoring the natural movement in your intestines, and the bowel movement will be much easier without any discomfort or struggle.
As this is a new flavor, it is probably not available in all the shops yet, but I did get it here on Amazon.
FitTea 28-Day Tea Detox
The Results That I Got With FitTea:
- Weight loss
- Reduced belly bloating
- Quick results
This tea is well-formulated, and it really works, but don’t just take my word for it, check out all the positive reviews this detox tea has. It is certainly effective and particularly useful for those who have serious abdominal bloating.
However, this tea was not very gentle on my stomach, maybe because I was still new to detox, so I had to be prepared for increased bowel movements.
Zero Tea Detox Tea 14-Day Detox
Some Results That I Got With This Tea:
- Boosts energy
- Elevates mood
- Suppresses appetite
- Provides vitamins and antioxidants
- Promotes a balanced feeling
- Eliminates build-up of toxins
This detox tea is undoubtedly one of the best and most effective detox and cleansing tea drinks for Women and Men.
However, this is one of the newer teas in the market, so there aren’t too many reviews available, but yet again, it did work for me really well, and I would definitely recommend trying it out.
Skinny Herb Body 14 Day Cleanse Tea
The Results That I Got With BeaTea:
- Detox, body cleanse
- Reduces bloating and gas
- Suppresses appetite
- Helps with weight loss
- Makes you feel healthy
This tea enjoys some great reviews online, and it was also one of the first teas I did try when I started to detox.
My results with this tea were absolutely great. However, the only downside I found was the taste. I didn’t find it particularly pleasant, but a lot of people seem to really like the taste, so it is best if you try it out for yourself.
This one is great for cleansing and for anyone who is looking to slim down.
Yogi Detox Tea
Some Benefits Of Yogi Tea Are:
- Lowers the risk of stroke and other diseases
- Also Lowers blood pressure
- Helps weight loss
- Boosts energy
- Enhances mood and mental performance
- Reduce stress and free radicals
- Enhances liver and kidney function
- Cleanses body
Yogi is one of the best-known teas and has been in the market for a long time and has enjoyed a great reputation with the customers. I have been using this tea most often for my detox.
Again, absolutely fantastic results and they do different flavors of the tea, some of them super nice.
However, what I noticed with Yogi detox tea was that when consumed for a long time, (over six months or so) it can begin to show some side effects, which include dehydration, diarrhea, and vomiting, it could be just a case of me overdoing it because I really liked some of the flavors.
Yogi is a great choice, but I would say not to use it for a long time. I am talking about using it non-stop for six months and up, trying out the other teas to take a break from it, and then you can go back to Yogi again.

- Increases peristalsis

- Removes yeast and harmful bacteria from the system

This tea is great, and definitely one of my favorites. Once you try it, you will know why. It worked like a charm, and it tasted fantastic. It is a great tea if you have never done a detox cleanse before, as it is surprisingly gentle on the stomach.
The taste is citrusy and I liked it. However, I didn’t get very dramatic results in terms of weight loss, as I experienced with the other teas. That could have been because I didn’t have much weight to lose any more at that point. But it did make me feel really healthy, cleansed, and really relaxed. So, I would definitely urge you to give this one a try first.
These specially formulated detox teas contain a carefully crafted combination of herbs that aid digestion and encouraging waste disposal.
Here Are Some Of My Tips For Choosing The Best Detox Tea
- Buy your teas only from trusted brands. There are too many shady companies out there selling health products, but these products can do more harm than good. Make sure you do your research and check out the reviews before you make a purchase.
- Do not ever go for crash diets that starve you, because you may lose a lot of weight in a short time, but the side effects may be serious.
- Use your herbal detox teas alongside healthy eating to lose weight and get rid of toxins.
- Do not look for the cheapest products; you get only what you pay for. This does not necessarily mean that cheap tea would be a bad one. Again, check the facts and do your research.
- Buy only organic herbal teas if you want results. Organic teas are a bit more expensive but offer much better results in the long run.
- Listen to your body. What works for everyone may not work for you. If you start experiencing any side effects, lower the frequency or discontinue the tea and try a different one.
Best Detox Teas can facilitate up to 1 pound a day weight loss during the first two weeks, thanks to the diet-busting discoveries combined with the power of herbs.
Signs That You Could Have Toxins In Your Body
There are several complex systems and organs within the human body that work to keep it clean and functioning normally. However, the body cannot always clean out the toxins on its own. It may need a little help from you from time to time.
Your food choices, living environment, and overall lifestyle are all contributing factors to how clean or dirty your internal body has become. If you can change these things for the better, then you can do a better job of keeping your body clean.
Do you have toxins present in your body? Here are some signs of being toxic:
- Gradual energy decreases throughout the day.
- Your overall energy level is lower than it should be for someone of your age.
- You have unhealthy and pale-looking skin.
- You experience depression or moodiness.
- You have suddenly gained weight without overeating.
If one of these signs is present in your life, toxins may be hidden inside your body
5 Simple Steps For More Successful Tea Detox
Follow these 4 steps below to get the maximum effect out of your herbal detox teas.
1. Drink Lots Of Fluids
Hydration is essential for the body. Drinking lots of fluids each day will sustain the health of your digestive functions, urinary functions, energy levels, and appetite. Your urinary system is particularly important because it is responsible for removing toxic fluids from the body.
Purified or filtered water is the best choice of fluids to drink. Avoid drinking soft drinks or any other fluids with added ingredients in them.
Don’t just drink water when you’re thirsty. Study the color of your urine each time you urinate because that will determine if you need to drink more water. Darker urine means drink more, and transparent urine means you are doing well. If you’re working out or exercising, drink even more water after a workout because your body is in a dehydrated state.
Herbal teas naturally stimulate the detoxification systems of the body and increase hydration too. Different types of herbal drinks target specific areas of the body. For instance, you can improve your digestive functions and lymphatic system with burdock root-based tea like Yogi Detox Tea.
2. Eat Simple Wholesome Foods
Making conscious choices about what you put into your body can positively impact all areas of your life. Many studies have shown that your body can naturally detox itself. So if you eat, clean, healthy food, combined with herbal teas and detox soups, you don’t need expensive, highly marketed “detox programs” and “cleanses” that may or may not work.
So, choose simple, wholesome foods that are natural and loaded with fiber. Fruits and vegetables are the best choices because they’re rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Some fast and simple meals with nourishing ingredients include salads, natural smoothies, and soups. Avoid any foods with simple sugars, too much salt, and refined carbohydrates.
You can boost your digestive health even more by consuming insoluble and soluble fiber. Psyllium seed husks are a good source of these fibers.
Triphala Fruit is another excellent choice. It is shown to aid digestion and act as an antioxidant. It is also thought to support the immune system and detoxify the body.
3. Stay Active
The body prefers to have just the right number of calories to sustain its energy levels and digestive functions. After you eat a meal, it is recommended that you do some light exercise to help stretch out your digestive system and help it function better.
In addition, light exercise will cause more blood to flow to other areas of your body. As a result, your energy levels will improve.
4. Put Away The Electronics
If you want to improve your energy levels and attitude, put your digital gadgets away for at least 10 minutes. Take a walk into the woods or sit in a quiet room and read a book.
If you escape from computer screens and smartphones for a short while, then you will feel much better. Preferably, try to be around outside and around nature during this time. Studies show that people develop a calmer mood when they’re around nature.
5. Avoid Strong Laxatives And Diuretics
Laxatives and diuretics may help you clear out more waste fast. Still, they can cause dehydration, irritate your digestive system, cause stomach cramps, and prevent your body from absorbing nutrients from your food. Although laxatives and diuretics have their place, they should not be used for general weight loss or without professional supervision.
More Natural And Effective Cleansing Tips
- Eat foods with a lot of sulfur in them, such as broccoli, pasture-raised eggs, garlic, and onions. This will cause the body to excrete more cadmium and other heavy metals. Sulfur-rich foods also boost your glutathione function, which is a critical antioxidant that your body produces for detoxification.
- Consume a type of algae named Chlorella. Not only does it help remove toxins and heavy metals from the body, but it offers nutritional advantages as well.
- Use Coriander to add flavor to some of your food dishes. Coriander helps remove insecticides, phthalates, and lead from your body.
- Start using more natural cleaning products around your home, such as baking soda and vinegar. Commercial products often have toxic chemical ingredients, so you don’t want those.
As for body care products, go with natural makeup, deodorants, shampoos, and moisturizers.

Keep taking the herbs afterward to increase the strength of your immune system.

I have only used Yogi’s detox blend from the list above and I try to drink 3 boxes every 6 months for the added boost to my normal tea consumption. I will have 2 cups a day until the 3 boxes are gone and then do it again 6 months later. I do notice that it clears up a lot of skin blemishes, I feel lighter, less bloated, and I tend to lose some weight. This could be water weight but I am happy about it!
These are mostly tea blends, right? I love the Yogi brand and I know someone from work who is using the green root tea that you mentioned. She actually lost some weight and replaced this with her morning coffee. She had been drinking coffee for years and this actually helped her get off of it. I do appreciate a good detoxing tea!
It seems like this was a trend that started maybe 6 years ago. I thought it was just some fad but as mentioned before in another comment, I have lost weight using tea. I just need to stick with it. I am guessing that some of these blends are great for weight loss but not for everyone. Either way, detoxing is a great thing to do when you start a weight loss journey. I did one of those parasite detoxes a few years ago and I was amazed by how much weight melted off me. We all have a lot of nasty stuff in us that needs to be cleaned out now and then! haha
I love the yogi detox tea. Bought some a while back and lost a little weight. Right now I’m experimenting with the red detox tea and so far I’ve lost 12 pounds. Without dizzy spells or anything.
Man I love this tea <3<3<3
Can any of these detox teas also help boost concentration, I suffer from a lack of concentration when I study, please can you help?
My wife bought the Total Tea and I thought it was just a normal tea and I kept drinking it and I felt really good and then she is like, who has been drinking my detox tea 😉 So, I am just wondering, if I could buy something like a Total Tea but even stronger so I would feel even better or if I could just increase the dosage.
Thanks Jen for the recommendations, I did get all of them, still waiting for 3 of them to arrive, I already got Yogi Detox Tea and I have been drinking it for 4 days now. Flavour is delicious, I do put some lemon and honey in it also, not sure if I am supposed to do that but it tastes absolutely beautiful. I will try to make the ice tea version of it and see how it tastes, it is just too hot at the moment to drink hot tea. I think that I am losing some weight also but it is just too early to say, I really need to get a scale. I can’t wait to get the other teas. I will keep you updated how I get on with my detox project 🙂
One of the most delicious detox teas I have ever tried is my own blend. My detox tea recipe is as follows: blend of green tea and lemongrass and bit of ginger and coconut and also dandelion leaves. This tea is sweet and refreshing, I could drink this all day. Feel free to copy my recipe.
These are all awesome blends as I did read the ingredients and the reviews, haven’t tried all of them yet though but so far, love the Yogi brand.
Detox teas are the most efficient and healthy way. Great recommendations, will try the Yogi one, Thank you 🙂
Loved this article Jen! I’ve seen many articles talking about detox teas and its effects to weight loss but I’m a bit nervous to hop on the bandwagon, would you recommend these?
Belly bloat and also cramping are my main problems, never really thought about the benefits of using Detox Teas, glad I found and read your article, I could have not been able to choose between all those teas that are available. Very helpful for me.
I have had stomach indigestion problems for quite some time now an I tried a detox tea and I’m getting better now, whatever herbs they have in these teas seems to be good for the digestion.
Very informative and well-written article! These teas seem like a very good option for helping reduce cravings and getting those stubborn pounds off.
I have used the Yogi detox tea in the past. I am really not a fan of the flavor but the results are worth it. I tend to only use it for 10 to 14 days and take a break from it. I do it as part of my 3 month cleanse. Every 3 months I make sure to eat and drink very healthy detoxing foods and drinks in order to cleanse my digestive system and my liver. I might try one of these other teas next time. Which tastes best?
I’m a big fan of treating your body with love, no matter where you’re at in your journey, and teas are one of my favorite ways to do that! I’ll have to try that Yogi tea – it’s the only one I see here that I can get in a store.
I’m not a huge fan of “programs” or “diets”, so I love to try and work my eating habits into things I love. Eating good foods and drinking teas that bless my body are often part of my daily routine, but I love having a special night dedicated to taking care of my body – tea for the inside, nice long soak in a bubble bath for the outside, with my favorite podcast or a book. Having a spa night is the BEST, and I encourage all women to try it – especially those who have been beating themselves up and stressing over weight loss woes.
Ohhhhh my DUDE, I love this. I need to start having a spa night. I used to, but with everything being so busy it’s just kind of gotten away from me.
I’m on the same page with you re: women beating themselves up over weight loss. There’s a gentler way to make sure your body gets some TLC than just staring at the scale and hating yourself! I am NOT about that life, let me tell you.
I would much rather soak my fabulous self in bubbles and have a nice cup of tea!
I am a SUCKER for a good tea. I’m definitely the rainy-day, curl up with a book and a good cup of tea type! I’m always looking for new rainy-day friends, so these ought to be just right! I’ve always loved teas, but for some reason the idea of teas for health had never actually crossed my mind. Thanks for giving me a starting point to research that!
